Toyo Ito (born 1941) is a Japanese architect known for his fluid, organic designs that seamlessly integrate technology, nature, and minimalism. He founded Toyo Ito & Associates in 1971, crafting innovative projects such as the Sendai Mediatheque, the Tama Art University Library, and the National Taichung Theater in Taiwan. His work often explores the relationship between built space and the environment, creating structures that feel light, transparent, and dynamic. Awarded the Pritzker Prize (2013), Ito continues to influence contemporary architecture, inspiring a generation of designers with his visionary approach to space, form, and urban interaction.
