Jun’ya
Ishigami

Jun’ya Ishigami (born 1974) is a Japanese architect celebrated for his ethereal, experimental approach to space, materiality, and structure. After working at SANAA, he founded Junya Ishigami + Associates in 2004, creating projects that blur the line between architecture and nature. His notable works include the Kanagawa Institute of Technology Workshop, the House & Restaurant in Japan, and the Serpentine Pavilion 2019 in London. Ishigami’s work explores themes of weightlessness, transparency, and organic form, often pushing the limits of engineering and construction. His poetic and conceptual designs have earned him international recognition, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale (2010).
