Isozaki
Arata Isozaki (1931–2022) was a Japanese architect and theorist renowned for his dynamic, ever-evolving design philosophy that spanned decades and architectural styles. He founded Arata Isozaki & Associates in 1963, producing influential works such as the Ōita Prefectural Library, the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, and the Qatar National Convention Center. Isozaki embraced both Japanese tradition and international modernism, creating diverse, experimental forms. A significant contributor to postmodernism and Metabolism, his work bridged Eastern and Western influences. He was awarded the Pritzker Prize (2019), cementing his legacy as a global architectural visionary.
