Bjarke Ingels (born 1974) is a Danish architect known for his bold, innovative, and sustainable designs that blend functionality with playfulness. He founded BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in 2005, leading groundbreaking projects such as the 8 House in Copenhagen, the VIA 57 West in New York, and the CopenHill power plant and ski slope. Ingels’ approach, often described as "pragmatic utopianism," challenges architectural conventions by integrating sustainability with cutting-edge aesthetics. His visionary master plans, including The Dryline for New York City and the Mars Science City, continue to push the boundaries of contemporary urbanism and design.
